Centre Cabane Structure

Following advice from Paul at TLAC I am starting to tackle the centre cabane.

It comes partially completed but, on removal from the body, requires the centre ribs to be set in position , one centre and two outer. The centre one requires careful alignment in its expected position, but sitting on top of the cross bars… Then use a set square to mark the vertical lines on the lower part of the rib .. These form cut lines …

Use a very fine saw to cut these out and then use epoxy glue to tag the rib into position temporarily ensuring vertical

The capping strips of spruce need to be fitted top and bottom

The outer ribs need to have small holes drilled out of the so that they sit flush with the framework .. These holes allow the bolt heads to protrude

The trailing edge is formed from balsa blocks
